The Rainbow of Appreciation and It's Pot O' Gold

This post was prompted by a card that I received in the mail over the weekend. I'd like to say it was a thank you card, but it was more than that, it was an unexpected display of appreciation. There is a different feeling of sentiment that is experienced when the appreciation comes from someone other than your significant other (as this card was not from my own husband).

Appreciation is a rainbow of many colors. It doesn't take much to show someone you care, were moved, inspired, humored, or had your spirits uplifted for the day. It can be anywhere from tagging someone in a Facebook post (thank you Debbie Reames), putting a card in the mail (thank you Christina Wilmot), nominating someone for a job well done (see this super mom), or even sending a simple text message or e-mail.

So my challenge to you, is to show someone you appreciate them today. Hold a door open, buy them lunch, be the last to lock up for the day, let someone infront of you in line. Reach up, grab that rainbow, pick a color, and pass it on. You will be amazed at how brilliant that pot of gold shines at the end.
